In 2001, theFurnace began with young people that were desperate to encounter God and live set apart for God. Students joined together to pray and fast for a move of God in their generation. Out of these small prayer meetings came the dream to see young people from across the country uniting together to worship, pray and fast. That dream later became known as the Desperation Conference. The group of college students that united to pray became known as theFurnace. Today, that tradition continues here at New Life Church. We are a tribe that is passionate to know God, pray fervently, live sacrificially, and faithfully impact the next generation.

Your story matters. Don’t waste it. Your days, months and years are valuable to God.

Welcome to theFurnace:

The truth is that your college/20 something years are extremely important. During these years, you will be developing your life story by making some of life’s most important decisions. You will make decisions about friendship, money, education, occupations, and maybe even marriage.

Studies are showing that more and more people are turning away from God during these years. That does not have to be you! You can take the next few years and advance your relationship with God. More than ever, these are strategic years for you to make choices while spending time with God daily, contending in corporate prayer, and spreading the gospel across the globe.

This collegiate house of prayer, theFurnace, is one of the most unique discipleship programs in the nation. We require only 10 hours per week so that our students are able to pursue college degrees, career and opportunities without spending thousands of dollars or living solely in a ministry bubble. theFurnace students are able to integrate their intense training with ordinary, daily life.

theFurnace is focused around prayer. We believe that one of the most exciting activities that we can be a part of is partnering with God in what He is doing on earth today. This is done through prayer. God has used the prayers of the young people in theFurnace in powerful ways over the years. We believe that it's merely the beginning.

Please pray about spending your college years as part of theFurnace community. It will push you to draw closer to God and equip you to advance His Kingdom.
